Description of Services: |
Physiotherapists are trained in diverse areas such as neurology, orthopaedics, and cardiorespiratory assessment and treatment. Physiotherapy services are offered to both outpatients and inpatients. After assessing a patient's condition, the therapist implements selected intervention(s) to safely relieve pain, to achieve and maintain health and fitness, and to optimize functional independence and physical performance. Physiotherapists educate the patient about their condition as much as possible. All therapists have developed advanced clinical expertise in an area of interest by taking continuing education courses. |

All referrals are by physician order, as per the Public Hospitals Act * For outpatient physiotherapy, a physician's referral specifying the diagnosis and any precautions is required Waiting Period: Outpatient Waitlist: Urgent - up to two (2) weeks; Acute - Two (2) weeks to six (6) months |
