Description of Services: Living Works Start
This 90 minute online course teaches participants 13 years and older to recognize when someone is thinking about suicide  and connect them to help and support. 
  • suicideTALK - Utilized for participants 15 years and older to become more aware of suicide prevention opportunities in their community. (1.5 hours)
  • safeTALK - Helps participants aged 15 years and older to become alert to suicide. Participants will learn to notice and respond to situations where suicidal thoughts may be present. (3-4 hours)
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) - A 2-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid training for anyone 16 years and older.
  • ASIST Tune-up - A refresher training for improving participant comfort, confidence, and competence in using the Pathway for Assisting Life model. Must have taken the full 2-day training within the last 3 years. (Half day)
  • Suicide to Hope - Strengthen hope by aiding recovery and growth in persons with previous suicide experiences who are currently safe. A sequel to ASIST that complements and enhances management, treatment, and therapy by framing them with a recovery and growth perspective. Suitable for Case Managers, Community Support Workers, Addictions Counsellors, and any other helping professional. (Full day)
